What are the precautions for moving a Bodhisattva?

1. The Bodhisattva should be placed in the "shengwang" energy direction of the living room for worship.
2. There should not be a bathroom behind the Bodhisattva, nor should the Bodhisattva face the bathroom door.
3. Water, drinks and other items cannot be placed where the Bodhisattva sits.

4. You must burn incense and worship on the first and fifteenth day of every month, there is no limit to the number of times you can do so.

5. Small ones can be held by a special person, and large ones can be packed in boxes or cartons and transported to the new home.

6. The feng shui has changed after the Bodhisattva moved, and his spiritual power may be affected. Therefore, one must choose an auspicious day and invite a high monk to consecrate the Bodhisattva in order to complete the merit.

What are the requirements for moving the Bodhisattva: steps and placement

1. When moving, if there are statues of Buddha or Bodhisattva in your home, it is best to move them yourself before moving furniture and other items. It is not suitable to hand them over to the moving company as you would do for other items.
2. Once the Bodhisattva's spirit tablet is determined, it should not be moved. If we are forced to move, we have to think of ways to remedy the situation. The first thing to do is to burn three incense sticks, one to show one's piety, and the other to pray to the Bodhisattva for forgiveness for moving the Bodhisattva's golden statue.
3. Moving is the most complicated and messy process, so you must never use it to blaspheme the Bodhisattva. Therefore, it is necessary to use a piece of red cloth of appropriate size to cover the eyes of the Bodhisattva in order to preserve his sanctity.

4. When moving, remember to handle things with care, and do not place other objects on the head of the Bodhisattva, as this is extremely disrespectful.
5. After moving to the new home, you must light three more incense sticks, then clean your clothes and hands, gently lift up the red cloth, and continue to pray. After placing it, offer flowers (representing cause) and fruits (representing result) to the Buddha. If the conditions are not met, just offering a cup of water (representing purity and equality) will also be fine. However, never use wine or meat to offer to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Usually, the six offerings are "incense, flowers, lamps, ointments, fruits, and music", and any one of them is acceptable.
