Courage often exists at the same time as fear. People have three reactions when encountering something they fear. The first is the freezing reaction, where the body becomes stiff and unable to move in order to protect themselves. Secondly, the heart rate increases, breathing becomes rapid, adrenaline is secreted in large quantities, and one is ready to escape quickly at any time. After that, it’s time to fight back. When you find there is no way to escape, fighting back with all your might is the only option to survive. This requires courage.
