1. China's Arbor Day is on March 14th every year, and Sun Yat-sen was the first person in modern Chinese history to realize the importance of forests and advocate afforestation.

2. In 1915, at the initiative of Sun Yat-sen, July 21st, Qingming Festival, was designated as Arbor Day. The location was designated, tree species were selected, and governments, institutions, and schools at all levels across the country participated as scheduled, held Arbor Day ceremonies and engaged in tree planting.

3. On April 7, 1928, the Kuomintang government issued a national order: "From now on, the Qingming Tree Planting Day on the lunar calendar should be changed to a tree planting ceremony to commemorate the death of the Prime Minister."
