What does sand mean in Feng Shui?

Sand refers to the mountains, hills, mounds, trees, various buildings, etc. surrounding the acupuncture point. Why are these called sand? In ancient times, Feng Shui masters used sand to teach their apprentices due to inconvenient transportation, practiced with sand trays, and piled sand into various landforms, hence the name.
Sand has various names depending on its position and shape. There are many graphics for reference in the books "Jadeite Sutra" written by Zhang Ziwei in the Song Dynasty, "What the Son of Man Should Know" written by Xu Shanji and Xu Shanshu in the Ming Dynasty, and "Tianji Yuan" written by Xu Shike.
