Today I’m going to introduce to you the dos and don’ts of moving. If you don’t know yet, please take the time to read it with me. Introduction to the precautions and taboos of moving Moving to a new house seems to be a problem that every person and every company will encounter. Choosing an auspicious day to move into new house is usually called "moving into the house" or "moving into the household". There are many taboos in Feng Shui. Among them, choosing an auspicious day is very important. Whether moving into a new house will bring good luck, or get rid of past bad luck, and whether people can live in peace and so on, these are people's general requirements and good wishes. Some hope that on the basis of peace, the house will be prosperous, their careers will be successful, their children will be healthy, smart and promising, and their company will prosper. 1. Can I live in the house before I move in? No, living in a house where a "house-entering ceremony" has not been held can easily lead to bad luck. Therefore, it is not recommended that you move in temporarily without holding a "house-entering ceremony". 2. I need to move into a new house soon. I don’t need to light a fire, I just need to sleep in it. Can I temporarily not hold the housewarming ceremony? a. As long as you move into a new house, it is considered moving regardless of whether you light a fire or not, because moving into a new house essentially starts from the first night you stay there. b. It is important to hold a housewarming ceremony, although the ceremony can be complicated or simple. c. The so-called auspicious day mainly refers to choosing a day that does not conflict with the year, month and day, the day does not conflict with the zodiac sign of the residents, the day does not conflict with the location of the house, and the day is not taboo for relocation on the lunar calendar. 3. When is the best time to entertain guests after the moving ceremony? Can I entertain guests in the new house on the same day? It is possible to entertain guests on the day of the "house-entering ceremony". Feng Shui believes that it is possible to entertain guests in the new house as long as the "house-entering ceremony" is held. 4. We in Northeast China have the concept of warming the house. Is it taboo to warm the house before the "house-entering ceremony"? a. Before holding the "house-warming ceremony", it is recommended not to hire people to warm the house, because warming the house before holding the "house-warming ceremony" can easily bring bad luck to yourself and others. b. If your local area has the custom of warming the house before the "house-entering ceremony", it is recommended to turn on all the lights in the house 1 to 3 days before the "house-entering ceremony" to let the lights warm the house. People should not stay overnight in the house. c. Of course, after the "housewarming ceremony", you can invite your friends to warm up the house together. 5. What should I do if I have already lived in the new house before the "house-entry ceremony" because I don't understand Feng Shui? Do not stay overnight in your new home before the "housewarming ceremony". Otherwise it will bring harm to yourself. 6. What does moving day usually refer to? Moving day usually refers to the day of the "house-moving ceremony". It is best to put all home appliances, furniture in place, beds, books, clothes, and other sundries (pots, bowls...) in order, seal the door (close the door tightly) before the "house-moving ceremony", wait for the auspicious day of the "house-moving ceremony" to open the door, burn incense to worship ancestors, start a fire (ignite) or set off firecrackers... etc., and move in on the same day. After the "house-entering ceremony" is over, the zodiac sign is no longer a taboo. 7. What principles should be taken into consideration when choosing an auspicious day for moving into a new house? There are two major principles in feng shui: choosing a date to avoid the conflicting day of your zodiac sign and the unlucky direction of your front door. Try to move before 3 p.m., because before 3 p.m. is Yang and after 3 p.m. is Yin, so it is better to move during Yang time. 8. Do I need to choose a date to move furniture into a new house? It is necessary to choose an auspicious day, especially for moving in pots, pans, and bedding such as pillows. The key points for choosing an auspicious date are briefly described as follows: a. The day of moving furniture into a new house should not conflict with the "zodiac signs" and "day pillars" (the "heavenly stems and earthly branches" of the lunar birthday) of family members, especially the "day pillar" of the owner. b. It is better to choose "Water Day" as much as possible and use "Fire Day" less often. c. Orientation of the new house: If it faces east, it is taboo to move on the days of Si, You and Chou (three elements of metal); if it faces west, it is taboo to move on the days of Hai, Mao and Wei (three elements of wood); if it faces south, it is taboo to move on the days of Shen, Zi and Chen (three elements of water); if it faces north, it is taboo to move on the days of Yin, Wu and Xu (three elements of fire). d. If the homeowner's "day pillar" (the "heavenly stems and earthly branches" of the lunar birthday) is a yang stem (such as Jia, Bing, Wu, Geng, and Ren), it is auspicious to choose a "yin time" (such as Chou, Mao, Si, Wei, You, and Hai) to move house; if it is a yin stem (such as Yi, Ding, Ji, Xin, and Gui), it is auspicious to choose a yang time (such as Zi, Yin, Chen, Wu, Shen, and Xu) to move house. 9. What are the main procedures of the housewarming ceremony? The main process of the "house-entering ceremony" is to choose an auspicious day that is suitable for the whole family, and then do the following actions at an auspicious day and time: a. Open the door. b. Burn incense and worship ancestors. c. When offering incense to ancestors, light the fire (and set off firecrackers) while the incense has not yet burned out and is still burning. See below for details: 10. What are the differences between moving, setting up the bed, and moving into a new house? Why do some lunar calendars require setting up the bed on the same day, but not moving into a new house on the same day? Which one should be considered when moving into a new house? In traditional Chinese culture, the only specific terms for "selecting auspicious days" are "moving into new house", "moving" or "migrating", but not "moving house". In modern terms, "moving into new house" or "moving" means moving house. "Migration" refers generally to the movement of people or things. The migration of people means moving house, and the migration of things means moving furniture and other items. Moving into a new home means moving into a new residence, which is not moving. Moving is what you call moving into a new home. Setting up the bed is something that needs to be done after moving into a new home. If the moving day is not suitable for installation, you don't need to set up the bed. |
