As a Leo, you like to lead the pack, but with Mars in Aquarius lately, you've had no choice but to hand over the reins, whether you like it or not. This is true in both romantic and business partnerships.

On May 15, Mars entered your opposite sign, Aquarius, for the first time, and it is not easy to accept Mars here. Mars usually stays in a sign for seven weeks, but this time, it will stay in Aquarius until November 16, and then enter your one-to-one partnership house. At the same time, you will need to reconcile and collaborate, allowing your romantic or business partner to take the lead. This assumes that you have a relatively good relationship.

Everything takes a turn for the worse, as Uranus in Taurus forms an exact square (90 degrees) to Mars in Aquarius on May 16. This is a fiery, even violent, aspect. Uranus rules Aquarius, and Mars is in Aquarius, and Aquarius is naturally your seventh house of one-on-one partnerships. These layers of cosmic signals all point to a partner in love or business, and some kind of difficulty in getting along.

This suggests that you and your partner may sometimes have different opinions from each other. A lot depends on how you've been getting along, and if things are tense, the eclipse could ignite your relationship. If you feel like you both have a good relationship, then it will continue to be good, but other things in your life will change.

There may be disagreements with partners on August 1 and September 18. During these two days, Mars and Uranus will again be in exact square, just as they were on May 16th. What is a little difficult to describe to you is that when Mars and Uranus are in opposition, the impact is not just for one day. The effects of this aspect are long-term, and because Uranus moves so slowly (it takes 84 years to orbit the Sun), this entire week may be fiery, with you and your partners being irritable. Mars is in Aquarius and Uranus is in Taurus, both fixed signs, so neither of you wants to compromise.

Another question is why Mars stays in Aquarius for so long. The answer is that Mars has been retrograde since June 26th and will not resume direct motion until the 27th of this month.

Don't get too excited—no stars are jumping the moment they resume direct motion. Like a person waking up from a coma, when retrograde stars first turn direct, they fall over, bump into furniture, and are generally disoriented for weeks. In fact, Mercury is at its most chaotic and frantic at the beginning and end of its retrograde period, so don't sign any big agreements or schedule any personal events, such as a first date, or buy that fancy electronic gadget you've been eyeing (including a car). Big brother Mercury is also retrograde and will be retrograde until August 27, so it is best to wait until September to do these things.

If you are going through a divorce, things may be very contentious with this fiery and sensitive relationship aspect, so avoid August 1 or September 18.

To further complicate your partnership situation, you just experienced a difficult eclipse on July 27 in Aquarius 5 degrees. Mars is in tense aspect to this full moon, with both forming a 90-degree angle to Uranus, again emphasizing this sensitive aspect.
