Which deity's birthday is on the fourth day of the first lunar month?

The fourth day of the first lunar month is the birthday of Sun Tianyi Zhenren;

Since ancient times, nine out of ten Taoists are doctors, and the Medicine King Sun Simiao is one of the best. Song Huizong posthumously conferred the title of Miaoying Zhenren on Sun Simiao. Taoists in later generations revered Sun Simiao as the Medicine King of the Three Realms, the Great Sage of Heavenly Medicine, the Heavenly Lord of Kaiyuan Pudu, and the Heavenly Lord of Ganying Pujiu. There are still many places that enshrine the Medicine King, especially in Sun Simiao's hometown. Today, in Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, Medicine King Mountain is full of incense and the sun sets several times.

When Tianyi Zhenren was seven years old, he could recite more than a thousand sentences every day. When he was sixteen years old, he liked to talk about the philosophy of Laozi and Zhuangzi and the theories of various schools of thought. He also liked to study Buddhist scriptures. One day, Dugu Xin, the governor of Luozhou, saw Sun Simiao and called him a holy child. It was a pity that his talent was not being used properly. During the reign of Emperor Xuan of Zhou, the immortal saw many changes in the royal family and went to live in seclusion in Taibai Mountain. During the reign of Emperor Wen of Sui, he was summoned to be a doctor of the Imperial College, but the immortal was eager to learn about Taoism and said to his friends: In another fifty years, a saint will be born, and I should also follow the opportunity to save the world and save people.

Later, Emperor Taizong of Tang ascended the throne and summoned Master Sun to the capital. Seeing Master Sun’s extraordinary appearance, Taizong said: The Taoist master I know is worthy of everyone’s respect. How can you look down on him? So he granted him the post of Chen Yi official, but he firmly declined. In the fourth year of Xianqing, Emperor Gaozong of Tang summoned the Taoist priest again and granted him a position, but he refused to accept it. In the first year of Shangyuan, he retired to Mount Taibai on the grounds of illness. The Taoist priest practiced diligently and studied various schools of thought, especially the philosophy of Laozi and Zhuangzi, and was very proficient in the study of yin and yang and medicine.

Which deity is worshipped on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year?

According to ancient Chinese mythology, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year is the day to worship the Kitchen God, and it is the time when the Kitchen God returns to the world from heaven. From the first to the fourth day of the lunar month, shops are closed and women do not use needles or thread. As the saying goes, "Send off the gods early, welcome them late", so send off the gods early in the morning, but welcome the Kitchen God around four in the afternoon. In the past, every household prepared sacrificial offerings, fruits and vegetables, and burned incense, gold paper, and set off firecrackers to show their respect for the new year.

"Kitchen God", also known as Kitchen King, Kitchen Lord, and Kitchen God, is the god of food in ancient Chinese mythology and legends. After receiving the God of Wealth, everyone has to have a road-opening wine feast, which often lasts until dawn. Everyone is full of hope for prosperity, hoping that the God of Wealth can bring gold, silver and treasures to their homes and make them rich in the new year. During the Republic of China, shops would open their doors from midnight on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year to the early morning of the fifth day, with bright lights and candles, and set up altars to welcome the "God of Wealth". People would flock to the temple of the God of Wealth to "exchange for gold ingots". All of this was done in the hope that their future fortunes would be smoother and their lives better.
