Tai Sui, as the ruler of a year, is the leader of all gods, and there is a different Tai Sui on duty every year. So where should we worship Tai Sui?

1. When you worship Tai Sui, you need Tai Sui clothes, which can also be purchased in the temple, a lucky bag, and a set of special paper for worshiping Tai Sui: including peace clothes, 100-solution talismans, round fortune horses, and long fortune horses. Remember to write your name and date of birth on the treasure bag or Tai Sui clothing to let Tai Sui know who you are.

2. When everything is ready, first burn incense at the incense burner in the main hall, and then worship at the Yuanchen Hall or Tai Sui position. Some temples will not allow devotees to bring burning incense into the Yuanchen Hall, so it is best to ask before visiting.

3. After entering the Yuanchen Hall, burn incense to Dou Mu Yuan Jun first.

4. After worshipping Dou Mu Yuan Chen, you should worship Tai Sui of that year, pray for blessings and make wishes, and speak auspicious words:

"Respectfully invite the Tai Sui General who is in charge of the year 2022. Believers, both men and women, have been affected by the evil star in this year. Now, we sincerely pray to the Tai Sui Star Lord to bless us with no disasters in the four seasons, celebrations on the eight festivals, turning misfortunes into good fortunes, and turning dangers into safety. I wish you good luck and good health in this year..."

5. Then pay homage to the Tai Sui of your birth year.

6. Do not leave immediately after worshipping, but burn a stick of incense to the other fifty-eight Tai Sui one by one.

7. Tai Sui clothes usually come with "Tai Sui money", which is used to be placed at the feet of Tai Sui or at the bottom of the incense burner of that year. This is called "Taisui Money". If not available, ordinary coins can be used instead. After the photo shoot, you should take the "Tai Sui Money" home and keep it with you.

8. Finally, burn the Tai Sui clothes and the "Taisui" ceremony is completed. But remember to come back at the end of the year to return the Tai Sui and thank the gods for their blessings.

What are the taboos in worshipping Tai Sui?

"Worshiping Tai Sui" must be done with a sincere heart to be more effective in solving the problem of offending Tai Sui. It is best not to eat meat or drink alcohol the night before, and you need to take a bath, and dress cleanly and neatly.

1. It is best to choose to worship at the Tai Sui Temple. If you cannot worship at the Tai Sui Temple, you can worship at a nearby temple which will also be effective. However, the way of worshipping in a Tai Sui Temple is slightly different from that in an ordinary temple, so it is best to ask the master of the temple.

2. To worship Tai Sui at home, you must first go to the Taoist temple to ask for the Tai Sui talisman and petition, and then choose the eighth or fifteenth day of the first lunar month as the date. The location should be where the Tai Sui star god is enshrined, or the annual Tai Sui direction of the home. People who enshrine the deity at home can worship Tai Sui directly facing the deity.

3. When worshipping Tai Sui, an incense table should be set up, on which incense, candles and offerings should be placed. The talisman should be taken for worship. Incense should be lit when inviting Tai Sui. Only the Tai Sui on duty can be invited. Then the relevant petitions for worshipping Tai Sui should be read out, followed by some messages praying for peace. Finally, the petitions should be burned and the Tai Sui talisman should be used to protect the safety of the home.

4. Most of the offerings to Tai Sui are fruits, vegetables, flowers, candies, peanuts, etc. It is best if the fruits are of different colors. Then light 3 big incense sticks and 9 thin incense sticks in the incense burner at the entrance of Tai Sui Temple. The most important thing is to worship the leader of the 60 Tai Sui first, that is Dou Mu Yuan Jun, then worship the Tai Sui of your birth year, and then start with the Tai Sui of that year. Remember that Dou Mu Yuan Jun, the Tai Sui of that year and the Tai Sui of your birth year are three incense sticks, and the other Tai Sui are one incense stick.
