Praying for blessings and worshipping Tai Sui is a ritual to ward off disasters and misfortunes, pray for blessings and prolong life, and is closely related to the fortune and misfortune of the passing year. So what do you need to prepare when worshiping Tai Sui at home? Things to note when worshipping Tai Sui! Come and take a look with us! What should you prepare when worshipping Tai Sui at home? What should you pay attention to when worshipping Tai Sui? ——When worshipping Tai Sui at home, you need to prepare Tai Sui talismans and petitions from the Taoist temple, incense, candles, and fruits and vegetables. 1. To worship Tai Sui at home, you must first go to the Taoist temple to ask for the Tai Sui talisman and petition, and then choose the eighth or fifteenth day of the first lunar month as the date. The location should be where the Tai Sui star god is enshrined, or the annual Tai Sui direction of the home. People who have an altar at home can worship Tai Sui directly facing the altar. 2. When worshipping Tai Sui, there should be an incense table, on which are placed incense, candles and offerings. Take the talisman and worship. When inviting Tai Sui, incense should be lit. Only the Tai Sui on duty can be invited. Then read out the relevant petitions for worshipping Tai Sui, followed by some messages praying for peace. Finally, burn the petitions and use the Tai Sui talisman to protect the safety of the home. 3. Offer four kinds of fruits, three incense sticks and two candles. Light incense and candles, bow three times to the Tai Sui tablet, worship Tai Sui, and pray "Tai Sui is the general on duty. I have encountered bad luck this year, so I pray to the general. I hope the general will protect me and turn misfortune into good fortune, good luck and good health (you can also pray for other wishes of your own). I will repay you sincerely at the end of the year." After praying and making wishes sincerely, burn the Tai Sui worship petition together with paper money (note that the petition should be burned from the beginning of the petition), and the Tai Sui worship ritual is completed. 4. Most of the offerings to Tai Sui are fruits, vegetables, flowers, candies, peanuts and the like. It is best if the fruits are of different colors. Six or eight kinds are fine. If there are fewer, four kinds are also fine. Bananas (for wealth) and apples (for peace) are usually available. Then light 3 big incense sticks and 9 thin incense sticks in the incense burner at the entrance of Tai Sui Temple. The most important thing is to worship the leader of the 60 Tai Sui first, that is Dou Mu Yuan Jun, then worship the Tai Sui of your birth year, and then start with the Tai Sui of that year (the guardian deity of the whole year). Remember that Dou Mu Yuan Jun, the Tai Sui of that year and the Tai Sui of your birth year are three incense sticks, and the other Tai Sui are one incense stick. 5. Finally, you need to send off Tai Sui, which means offering sacrifices to the Tai Sui of the year on the 24th day of the twelfth month of the lunar calendar, and then burn the Tai Sui talisman. Another way is to repeat the process of worshiping Tai Sui on the 16th day of the seventh lunar month of the same year, as this day is Tai Sui's birthday. Things to note when worshipping Tai Sui1. Avoid polluting the place where the gods are placed When you worship Tai Sui and pray for blessings at home, you need to press the Tai Sui shrine and be careful to keep it away from the kitchen and bathroom. The shrine should not be against the kitchen or bathroom wall. If there is a pregnant woman in the family, it is not advisable to go near her bedroom or delivery room. 2. Avoid giving roses as flowers When offering flowers, be sure not to offer roses. All flowers can be offered to the gods, but there are taboos in the rules for roses. This is an untimely beauty, the imperial annotation of the "Ganying Pian". 3. Avoid worshipping Tai Sui on Wu Day You cannot worship Tai Sui on the days of Wuxu, Wushen, Wuwu, Wuchen, Wuyin and Wuzi. The heavenly rules forbid reciting scriptures on the Wu day, and swallows must carry mud and snakes must not do. Violators will suffer disasters throughout the four seasons, as the Queen Mother showed the Emperor of Han in the past. 4. Avoid offering black dates as fruit Among all kinds of fruits, whether fresh or dry, pomegranates are forbidden to be offered as tribute to Xuantian. Plums should not be offered to the Supreme Lord, and black dates are forbidden to be presented before the Supreme Lord. Pomegranates cannot be offered to the Great Emperor Zhenwu, and plums cannot be offered to Laojun. As for black dates, they are inappropriate and are strictly prohibited. 5. Food offerings are prohibited from eating the five pungent and three disgusting foods. The five pungent foods and three abominable foods include: wild geese, pigeons, turtledoves, black carp, loach, turtle, dog meat, mutton, pork, etc., which are also not suitable. There are also onions, garlic, coriander and the like, which are all meaty. 6. Avoid pregnant women, monks, nuns, etc. Worshiping Tai Sui is a solemn event. Pregnant women, monks and nuns, filial sons, chickens and dogs, and people who are involved in the foul smell of alcohol and meat should all stay away from it, for fear that the foul smell will remain in the altar and the Dou Zhen will not be subdued. Therefore, Taoism has the method of purifying the altar and setting up a boundary, so as to cleanse the foul air and welcome the saint. 7. Avoid using river water for water supply When donating water, it is better to draw water from wells or springs, as water from rivers may be polluted. It is inevitable that women's menstrual blood will flow into the banks of rivers. If this water is offered to the gods, it would be disrespectful, and the gods would be angry, and the sin would be serious. 8. Taboos of offering lamps There is a star on a magic lamp, shining brightly to help the day dawn. The flame of your natal star will never be extinguished, and your blessings and misfortunes will be reported to you. One, two or seven lamps may be offered. The seven lamps represent one's body, salary, blessings and virtues, gender, life, official position, longevity, wives, concubines and servants. Light lamps on the altar and observe the brightness of the lamps to predict good or bad luck. |
