Can't I worship Buddha on my birthday? What are the rules for worshipping Buddha?

Every time when going to a temple, many people will feel a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, and their irritable emotions will be relieved immediately, thus giving rise to a sense of awe. Now many people choose to worship Buddha in order to pursue spiritual tranquility.

Can't I pray to Buddha on my birthday?

You can worship Buddha on your birthday. Worshiping Buddha on your birthday means "repaying the fourfold grace from above and relieving the sufferings of the three paths below."

1. Parental kindness

Without our parents, there would be no us. Our parents are our greatest benefactors in this world. It is the responsibility and obligation of children to support their parents. As the saying goes, "If one son becomes a Buddha, nine generations of ancestors will ascend to heaven." If we achieve success, nine generations of ancestors will also benefit from it. This is how we repay our parents' kindness.

2. The Grace of Teachers

The Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and great masters of all generations are not gods but teachers and role models for us. They advise us and help us earnestly. Their efforts are completely selfless and they do not ask for anything else but to help us awaken early and become Buddhas sooner.

3. National Grace

Under the protection of the national government, we often do not appreciate what we have. But as long as you go out and look at those countries in war, look at those people who have lost the protection of their country, and see how pitiful they are, how they are discriminated against and bullied everywhere, you will be able to feel the kindness of the country.

4. Kindness to all living beings

Our daily food, clothing, housing, transportation, the water we drink, the meals we eat, the clothes we wear, and everything we need in life are all provided by others. So we should be grateful to the public for giving back to society.

What are the rules for burning incense and worshipping Buddha?

1. Do not use chemical incense or low-quality incense when burning incense. Burning such incense will only increase obstacles and bring bad luck instead of good fortune. It is best to burn natural incense, and this is also the correct way to burn incense.

2. When burning incense, you cannot drink alcohol, kill, use foul language, or engage in other indecent behavior, as these behaviors also indicate that you do not respect the Buddha.

3. The number of incense sticks to be burned should be odd, and you should light them yourself. Moreover, the incense sticks should be inserted in order, from one to two to three. Don't insert the whole bunch at once.

4. Be careful not to step over the kneeling cushion in front of you when burning incense, and don’t just leave after burning incense. You must bow and worship; otherwise it will be regarded as disrespectful.
