Buddhism says that the threshold of a temple is the shoulders of Sakyamuni and cannot be stepped on, so when you go to a temple, you cannot step on the threshold. However, if you don’t know it in advance, there is no need to remedy the situation. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are compassionate and infinitely tolerant. Once you know it, just follow the rules.

1. Buddhism is a humanistic religion. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were originally real people in history or recorded as human beings in Buddhist scriptures. In other words, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were once human beings, and they all became human beings through spiritual practice. Anyone who can become a Buddhist must first be a good person, someone who is easy to talk to, and cannot be a petty and narrow-minded person.

2. Whether you can step on the threshold of a temple is the same as whether you can step on the threshold of a folk house. Maybe in some areas, the door threshold cannot be stepped on. This has its practicality (for example, most door thresholds are made of wood and will break if stepped on too often), but it has risen to the level of a rule and taboo. But now the threshold has basically disappeared in society, and most people don't even have this concept.

3. A good person would not blame others for rules that ordinary people do not understand, and Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will not do that either. Maybe they will just ignore it and treat it with tolerance, or maybe they will just kindly remind you to pay attention. Even if there is such a thing as cause and effect, it is so subtle that it can be ignored. The "retribution" you receive in this matter is no greater than the "retribution" you receive for hurting others intentionally or unintentionally in society. So if you don’t know that you cannot step on the threshold when worshipping Buddha, there is no need to remedy this, because ignorance is not a sin.

What are Buddhist rituals?

1. Do not take any needle or thread in the temple. Small consequences may lead to great consequences. You may ascend to heaven or suffer in hell.
