Including my children, my parents, my relatives and friends, etc., may they stay away from all diseases, disasters and other adverse conditions, obtain all favorable conditions, and make their minds like the Dharma, the Dharma like the right way, and the path like the truth, so that they can quickly attain Buddhahood!

2. In order to accomplish this goal, may all the causes and conditions for me to practice Buddhism in this life, that is, all the favorable conditions such as good karma, blessings, wealth, longevity, wisdom, compassion, virtue and ability, etc., all increase! Let us eliminate all obstacles to practicing this wonderful Dharma, especially diseases, disasters, sufferings, and hindrances!

3. May all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas bless me, so that all the causes and conditions that have harmed me in countless lifetimes and caused me to continuously cycle through the six realms of reincarnation, including the various hells, hungry ghosts, and animals, as well as the six realms of reincarnation, including humans, gods, and asuras, including greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, doubt, and so on, will be eliminated!

4. May all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas protect and bless me, so that when I obtain a human body in this life, I can develop great compassion, bodhicitta, generosity, precepts, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom and other paramita, and quickly escape from the suffering of reincarnation and reach the eternal bliss of bodhi!

5. If I cannot become a Buddha in this lifetime, then please allow me to be reborn in the Western Pure Land and practice Buddhism with Amitabha Buddha! After attaining Buddhahood, I will be able to repay the kindness of all sentient beings! Please allow me to achieve such a special cause and condition!

6. I vow to save all sentient beings and to eliminate all endless afflictions. I vow to learn the boundless Dharma, and to achieve the boundless Buddhahood. I pray to the Buddha to fulfill my wish.

What are the specific steps when praying to Buddha and making a wish?

1. Burn incense

1. Hold the incense sticks to the height of your eyebrows with both hands. Press the tail end of the incense sticks with your thumbs. Aim the tail end of the incense stick at your forehead and the top end of the incense stick at the Buddha statue.

2. Maintain this posture and recite silently in your heart, for example, "Namo Great Compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva", and pay homage to the Buddha and Bodhisattva.

3. Finally, insert the incense into the incense burner, then return to the Buddha, kneel on the prayer mats (cushions) on both sides of the Buddha, put your hands together and tell the Buddha what you want to say, then bow three times, stand up and ask for greetings, and then leave.

2. Worship Buddha

1. Stand in front of the cushion with your hands (fingers together) and palms (slanting upward) in front of your chest.

2. Press your left palm on the left side of the cushion in front of you, and press your right palm downward on the center of the cushion. Keep your left palm still, spread your knees apart, and kneel on the cushion.

3. Place your head on the cushion between your palms and turn your palms outwards (palms facing upwards, with the intention of supporting the Buddha’s feet with your hands, head and face touching the feet).

4. Bend the fingers of both hands and turn them over, still pressing them on the original position of the cushion, lift your head off the cushion and stand up from prostrate position to complete.
