1. Do not look up at the Buddha's face when worshipping or burning incense

Many people are very curious. After entering the temple, when you see many Buddha statues inside, you start to walk around as if you were visiting a museum. This is extremely disrespectful to Buddha, so be sure to pay attention. Because Buddha statues are generally quite tall, if you want to see the Buddha, you should stand farther away and not look up.

2. You can’t eat or drink vegetarian food for free

Whenever a temple holds a Dharma assembly, free vegetarian food will be prepared to connect with the public, but you must not eat and drink for free at this time, because the temple is different from a company. The expenses of the temple come from donations from all directions. If eating and drinking for free is like owing a debt, the debt you owe is to all sentient beings in the ten directions.

3. Others should not pass in front of you when you are worshipping Buddha.

After entering the Buddhist temple, if you see someone worshiping Buddha, do not pass in front of them. It is very disrespectful to Buddha to pass in front of people who are worshiping Buddha. At the same time, those who are worshiping Buddha should try to worship Buddha as close to the front of the Buddha table as possible. If you worship Buddha too far away and it takes a long time, it will cause trouble to others.

4. Pay attention to the gestures when holding incense

There are strict requirements for holding incense. When burning incense, the left hand should be in front and the right hand behind, with the right hand blocking the left and right.

5. Do not blow incense with your mouth or smell it with your nose

If the flame of incense is too big, you should use a fan to extinguish it, or divide it into small pieces and shake it with your hands, and it will go out. If there is a little incense fire, you cannot blow it out with your mouth. It is better to use your hands or a fan to put it out. Some people, after lighting incense, are accustomed to bringing it to their nostrils to smell it to see what it smells like, and then put it into the incense burner to offer to Buddha. How to chant Buddha

There are three forms of chanting Buddha's name.
