Sometimes, on the surface of the skin on the upper body of the human body, there appear dark red, congested spots that look like a small spider and are called spider nevi. Spider nevus is a variant nevus. Due to the relatively excessive secretion of estrogen in the body, the small arteries on the skin and their surrounding branches expand radially, finally forming a congested appearance.

Prone to crowds

Spider nevi are most likely to occur in women, especially girls in puberty, who have a large amount of estrogen in their bodies and may develop some spider nevi. In addition, spider nevi can be seen in normal women during pregnancy. During pregnancy, the amount of androgen in the body increases, so some pregnant women develop spider nevi on their skin, mostly occurring within 2 to 5 months after pregnancy. Spider nevi may also be seen in a small number of patients with other diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and patients with vitamin B deficiency.
